USTASC Rewards Program – Points add up! USTASC is pleased to announce a new rewards program for staff members. Below is a basic rewards plan for those that go over and above. You MUST complete a point form each time you earn points. You are responsible for keeping track of points earned utilizing the point form. This program is subject to change without notice and maybe discontinued at any time. Point values are lost upon termination of employment and cannot be transferred to another party. Points do not carry over from year to year. Points are not a cash out benefit and can be reduced or canceled at any time, including for disciplinary actions. Point cash out maybe delayed dependent on time of year. Award of points is not retroactive.   Good morning all! This is to remind everyone that those who work at headquarters are an extension of me. If you are asked to perform a task, fill a shift, change your schedule, correct something, etc. it is because I have directed them to do so OR they are operating under my authority. Please be advised that any directive is an extension of what I am requiring headquarters staff to perform. I expect everyone to interact with headquarters staff with the level of professionalism as if they would be interacting with me directly.  Unless you are asked, by any supervisor or administrator, to perform a task that is illegal, immoral, or against a policy, then I expect that task to be considered as being correct and to be followed unless countermanded by a superior supervisor to the person who gave you the previous order.   We have had several issues over this weekend that are bleeding into this week that need to be corrected immediately.  Although these issues may not apply to you, I want everyone to understand the following: 1. All Eastern Shore Officers are required to complete a properly detailed log report of their activities. The following is NOT a proper log report: 1000 On duty 1100 Patrolled. Nothing to report. 1200 Partolled Nothing to report. 1300 Patrolled Nothing to report.  A proper log report needs to include details about what you did, what you checked, what you observed, etc. I expect detailed log and incident reports from each officer. If you are confused about how to complete these reports, check the policy and procedure manual on the USTASC app., speak to a field supervisor, or call us at headquarters. 2. USTASC and Officer Vincent receives a letter of thanks from the Ocean City Police Department for assisting an in the arrest of a suspect. The suspect reportedly had the police officer at a tactical disadvantage when PFC Vincent assisted in subduing the suspect.

The following promotions and transfers go into effect today: Officer Vincent to PFC Vincent, Patrol Division I would also like to commend PFC Vincent for the excellent job that he performed in assisting an OCPD police officer. During the evening of 8/15/2020 PFC Vincent came to the aid of an OCPD officer that was fighting to subdue a suspect. The suspect gained the advantage on the officer and had the officer at a disadvantage that could have resulted in a serious injury or death to the police officer. Due to PFC Vincent's quick actions and dedication he was able to assist the police officer in subduing the suspect.  -Chief E. Avnet

I would like to commend Patrol Officer Lindsey Neal for his actions at XXXXXXX (a security post) on Saturday, July 4, 2020. Officer Neal responded to a call of a drug transaction taking place with a witness who had videotaped the incident. Officer Neal contacted OCPD and when they arrived on scene he concisely related all of the pertinent facts relating to the incident including the person making the complaint (video operator) a description of the persons involved and their location on the premises. OCPD reported to the room in question after reviewing the video footage, questioned persons involved, and after Officer Neal observed the subjects attempting to leave the site made contact and an arrest was made.   Officer Neal conducted himself professionally and in the correct manner of a patrol officer and USTASC employee. -Chief E. Hey there.   I wanted to go over a few things just so that everyone is on the same page.  As the bullet-resistant vests are being distributed, please bear in mind these are company property that must be returned if you leave or are terminated. Please take care of this property. You are wearing about $550.00. When washing the vest carriers, YOU MUST remove the vest panels. This can be done by accessing the bottom of the vest and removing the front and back internal panels. DO NOT WASH THE ENTIRE VEST! Please keep this equipment clean and in working order. Badges must still be worn visibly on the vest carrier. You must still wear your uniform shirt with a patch under the vest carrier. Non-uniform shirts, black shirts, etc ARE NOT ALLOWED. Do not attach anything additional to the vests (i.e. patches, etc). "Morale" patches are not authorized either. Charles Echart or Eckart (unknown true last name spelling) was found on USTASC property asking for directions. Echart, a white male approx 5'10, 165 Lbs, short-cropped hair and a goatee, tattoos on both arms, and was heavily intoxicated.  Echart is homeless and is believed to staying in a wooded area near USTASC property. A photo will be posted on the USTASC employee portal. SPD was called to the scene and issued Echart a lifetime trespass notice. Echart became disorderly and attempted to attack Chief E. Avnet at which time he was repelled. No injuries took place however, Echart vowed to return to the property.  If Echart is observed on USTASC property by any USTASC special police officer he should be detained (arrested), and the police. Advise the police that he has a lifetime trespass notice issued by SPD. If a security officer observes him on USTASC property, call the police immediately and keep him insight. Those officers who complete log reports, hazard reports, and incident reports (Eastern Shore Officers). It is very important that you include all the appropriate information. ANY disturbance should be logged. If the police are called, it is a repeated violation OR it is an eviction then an incident report MUST BE generated. It didn't happen if it is not documented. It will save you and us a lot of heartache when the client calls and asks what happened the previous night. If we don't have anything to tell them because an incident is missing from your log and there is no incident report, we have to call you.  When you complete an incident report always remember: WHO - Who is involved, Who you are, who are the names of persons involved if possible, names of police officers/ID numbers. Dates of birth of suspects. WHAT - What type of incident is occurring WHERE - Address of the location (Building/Apartment/Unit #) HOW - How did this incident occur? TO ALL OFFICERS: This is a reminder that YOU MUST CLOCK IN AND OUT ON BOTH SHIFTBOARD AND ADP.  Currently, there are 14 employees with 16-time card exceptions. If you do not clock in and out on time, each time, it may seriously affect your payroll. You must clear time card exceptions if they occur. I am sure that you want to be paid on time and for the correct amount. We want to pay you correctly. This is why we implemented the following this last week: Every current officer received a company-issued protective vest (on order) Every current officer is signed up for online training including courses on police work, EMS once they complete their initial course load. These classes are here for your benefit and you will be paid for mandatory classes (on straight time) Having said all this, I want to introduce a new picture while you work program! This is a temporary program. Just take a selfie of your self or have someone else take a photo of you performing work in a USTASC uniform or just waive for the camera. You may wear PPE in the photos.
